Means, go on APP till about 500 ft, reduce if not happened already to 150-160 knots (depends on how heavy she is), let her glide down and reduce the moment before touch down thrust to idle, engage reversers and thrust up again. The 777 autolanding is painful for me because the A/P swings up and down like crazy and makes me seasick. So, as a pure keyboard pilot, I figured out my dirty tricks with a lot of experimenting. You can manually employ with ctrl-B, I think, but then the A/T will only increase thrust to hold the set speed against the spoilers. The speed brakes will not deploy if you are already down to under 160 witzh the 777-300. So, I assume, you had speed on auto and the A/T had the thrust still too high up? Or on man and you didn't reduce thrust? Reverse thrust should only come on when the thrust is near to idle. So, hold the nose down till you want rotate because she behaves in that exactly like the real one.
