However the teeth that come in the front around four months old are a close second in pain. The molars seem to be the most painful and the take the longest to come through. Usually the front teeth start, then the canines, then work backwards ending with the molars around two years old. When teething is happening, there is typically an order in which the teeth come in. Every baby exhibits teething differently. The pressure and pain of teething doesn’t help a baby relax to sleep. Along with that, this sleep regression can be caused by teething at 4 months. Around four months babies typically go through a cognitive growth spurt that causes a sleep regression. One obvious symptom of teething is a sleep regression. The fever is just caused by extra stress on the body from the process of the teeth pushing through the gums. Teething babies may also grind their teeth or have a fever. If your baby seems to be teething at 4 months, you could look in their mouth and see if there is any inflammation where the tooth is coming through. So look for these other symptoms, including chewing on hands, drooling and inflammation of the gums. However, most parents know that a fussy baby doesn’t mean a teething baby. If your baby is being fussier than normal then it could possibly be teeth. There are many different symptoms that could be interpreted by teething. So just because that’s the way it is for one child’s doesn’t mean it will be the same story for your child. However, just like everything else with parenting, every kid is different. The teeth have a certain pattern that they typically come in. Although all babies are different, they will teeth typically around four months, one year and two years old. There are a few times that teething hits hard. They will often exhibit some pretty severe symptoms and their sleeping patterns will be totally messed up. Teething is one of the most uncomfortable experiences that a baby has to face.
